WINTER CALIFORNIA STYLE

I know I have been showing a lot of water drops on my posts lately, but I have to show what's happening around me.
I believe the name of the tree growing in my backyard is called Ginkoba and this is one of the seed pods that has begun to dry and shrivel. If anyone knows for sure what the tree is I would love to know too.
The wind was blowing and it was hard to get that droplet in focus, so this is a little blurry but I like it anyway.

The 'Ginkoba' tree is what we call the 'Ginkgo' or'Maidenhair' tree. I can't be absolutely sure because you don't show any leaves. Are they a fan shaped 2 lobed leaf? The full name is Ginkgo Biloba, so maybe Ginkoba is a contraction of this.
It's actually a kind of conifer even though it doesn't look like it. A sole survivor of a family of trees from over 200 million years ago!
I think you can buy extract of this tree that help improve memory.....I forget.

Great photo, more raindrops on the way?
BTW you're a redhead, right?
I've posted about redheads today, we are 2% of the worlds population. A definite minority!

Doesn't look too different than winter in Missouri right now! Except our drops freeze at night.

Hope you are doing well Sue.

Sue: Thanks for your comments on my blog. I agree about the pink and red (referring to the redhead post). My mother wouldn't let me wear pink or red either, she stuck to blue and green! But now I am "all grown up" I do wear some red but I haven't managed pink yet!

Photographing drops of water or moving water is always difficult and a challenge. You met the challenge on this one! Great photo!
