WINTER DIAMONDS

I went out in our backyard today and took a few pictures of our bare branches with the morning rain on them. I thought the drops looked a bit like diamonds.
Don't forget to enlarge the picture to see the shot in more detail.
Have a great weekend everyone.

I just love pictures with hanging drops of water or whatever! I find them notoriously difficult to take.

Very, very well done!

You can really see the world is upside down in the drops of water. I like the shot.

Very nice -- I was wondering what I could shoot in all this drippy weather...

Your diamonds shine at the hopeful points of future growth along the branch..I like that..

The detail is amazing! It's rainy and gray in Ohio. I need sun!

You are such a master photographer with that camera of yours! I happen to have a hard time managing to hit a macro like that. Maybe I should come over to California for some lessons? Would you be willing to teach me?
Have a great weekend and all the best wishes for a Happy New Year!

Nice drops! Now the next challenge is getting something interesting (flowers, patterns?) all super wide-angle IN the drops! Love this image.

I love it! One of these days I am going to go out and buy me a good macro lens. I have never been happy with the ability of any of my cameras to get really close up.

An each diamond has the whole scene again inside itself. Interesting shot

I like the way the drops of water capture the scene behind them - and turns it upside down. There's great detail of the bark on the branch, too. Happy New Year to you!!

No drops of water here, it's all frozen and likely to stay that way for a while.
Great picture, I can never get the focus right on closeups like that.

You really captured how the drops act as a lens to invert the scene. Great shot!
