BLUE ORB

I couldn't resist posting this beautiful blue orb even though Mr Mapper posted a similar one a few days ago. The color and reflections made me quite happy with this picture.
To get a closer look just click on the photo.

It's really beautiful. Where did you find it?

Today at TORUŃ DP we have an interesting post about Nazi officers. So if you are into history...come and check it out!

Wow! You are posting some very artistic shots! The shot of the trees at Tahoe is awesome!

How do they get the blue orb down there? Does it just roll down itself?

Nice photo.

I would have been happy if I had thought of that one.

Some day I hope I will.

Beautiful picture! I am a colector of glass so I really loved enlarging this for the full effect:)
I replied to your comment on my site wondering if your DH went to school in Hawaii...

That's so pretty. Is that small, like a marble? Or is it large.

To answer your question Glenn, this was at our relatives house on their back deck.
I'm not into physics but the breeze allows the ball to circle up and down the metal spiral wire.

Laurie- the glass marble is about the size of a huge jaw breaker, maybe about 3 inches across.

Glad I looked at the larger view of the photo -- so much more amazing detail.

Oh, blue is my favorite color, and that is beautiful. Where is it located and how big is it?

Sorry...I didn't read all the comments before I asked my questions. They're answered now. Thanks.

That's a neat close-up. Good eye to catch it that way.

You can never have too many blue orb photos. There is something beautifully mysterious about it.

Blue Globe,
as seen from a spaceship. :-)

I like the repeated theme of the reflected swirl of the spring on the surface of the orb, and the swirl inside the orb.

Story ends and a question in my blog.

I posted one of these a while back too. I like the way they look like the ball is moving, but not really.
