LICHEN


I liked the way this Lichen was attached to an old wooden fence post. the florescent green against the greyed wood makes an interesting contrast.

I guess this must be the kind reindeer and other animals eat. I have not seen it here where I live. I have seen the kind that is flat and looks almost like a scaly moss and mine grows on old stones and monuments like my old Japanese lantern. My lantern is now starting to look like those found in Japanese graveyards.

Yours is a nice photograph with plenty of color and details.

Was the lichen up in Washinton State, where it is more moist, the lichen grows better.
