OLFACTORY SENSATION "O"

Today is ABC Wednesday. The letter for the day is "O". You need to get your olfactory senses working for this beautiful sweet smelling rose. There are a number of roses blooming by the side of our house and their perfume is quite heady. This photo was taken yesterday after a sudden short lived downpour.
Besure to enlarge this one to see the detail.

We have had quite a bit of frost and the flowers are starting to wilt.
Did you feel the earthquake down your way.
Now to work on my ABC Wednesday post

it looks like one that loves to live its life fully...it's blossomed so beautifully.......

rose scent can be real heady. my mother in law makes this special pilaf with rose water added to it..the scent itself makes me crave for more......

Esquisite! Beautiful rose in full bloom, sprinkled by the rain. Must make for nice walks beside your home.

You are getting very good at this, aren't ya? Delightful!

(BTW, see what happens when you leave a thoughtful comment - scroll down about a third of the page, it's just above the "Doing the Papelbon" entry - which, incidentally, is a lot of fun to watch.)

Hi Sue, I’ve just posted a photo of some little roses. What coincidence! That rose of yours is really lovely. Well done close up!

Another 'WOW' photo, it must run in the family!

That is so pretty, it could a Flamenco dancers petticoat, a ballerina's tutu...stunning shot that stirs the imagination.

So pretty!
I enjoyed the indian corn, it is simply amazing how kernals on the same ear can be so many different colors.
We have had killing frosts the last three nights so I expect flowers will be hard for me to come by until spring.

Thank you so much for visiting Country Captures faithfully. I am always encourged by you kind comments.

I applaud your creative use of the letter "O" - any reason to have a flower picture!

Its a beautiful shot, too :)

Hey Sue! Beautiful photo!! I can't believe you are already half-way through the alphabet. Usually the fragrance is due to being an heirloom. The newer varieties tend to lose their scent.

(PS - Glad to be back, too!)

I'm so sad because I was sure I left a comment here at your place, but it is gone. You are quite talented with your camera's eye.

I love Apple Hill - and in fact hope to get up there in the next few weeks.

I'm surprised that you still have roses that look so fresh and bright. Too cold here for that now. The colour is beautiful!
