I love your photos of Mel's. We have a Mel's Diner here, but I rarely go. I've always enjoyed it whenever I have been there though.

Hi Sue, I've always thought it was especially nice to eat in restaurants that decorate their ceilings. One of my favorite is on the water in Wisconsin, there are boats and kayaks hanging above the eaters there.

When I was a reporter I once wrote a story and photographed the 57 Diner, this entry reminds me of it. An Elvis lover with a 57 Chevy totally transformed his garage into a diner, complete with jukebox, diner tables, black and white checked floor, stage, the whole works. And, yes, the car still fit, too.
