LAKE TAHOE

This is beautiful Lake Tahoe which is the second deepest lake in the United States. Its located along the border between Nevada and California in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. You are looking at the Nevada side of the Lake.
The Lake's average depth is 989 feet (301m) and the maximum depth is 12 miles (501m). That's what gives the Lake its amazing clarity and vast shades of blue. Its elevation is 6,229 feet (1899m) and is 22 miles long (35km) and 12 miles wide (19km).
Now I've given you all the facts and the best one is that its just a 2 hour drive from our home.
I grew up camping at this Lake and never tire of its serenity in all seasons.
Over the next few weeks I will share some pictures from our last visit and some wonderful Fall shots as the season changes its garments.
The posted picture doesn't do the Lake justice you really need to click on the photo to enlarge and see all the detail and color.

That's beautiful. Especially when you look at the picture full scale. Do you ever go out on the water?

This would be a good one for one of those series where you photograph the same scene in each season. I'll bet this is pretty in the winter too!

My comment didn't go through yesterday, I guess. I was wondering if you saw any sign of the fires from earlier this year?

Tahoe looks like such a beautiful place.

Gorgeous! It's amazing what enlarging the photo brings, isn't it. Those colors are beautiful.

You are right, this is worth looking at in the large version. It is an amazing lake, looks just like the sea. And I enjoyed learning all the facts about it.

Absolutely stunning. I've never been there, but it's on my "before I die" list.

I have thick naturally curly hair. I think the smell is too strong & more age appropriate for someone older but finding a product that

has everything good/ideal has been impossible. Quite expensive so if you can get a deal then it's worth it.
