JUST PEACHY

We have had an amazing crop of peaches. I think we picked 2 lugs worth yesterday. Now I have to become domestic and make something with them. We set aside this peach. Don't you think he's got a big nose? Maybe Jimmy Durante Peach is his name.

You know, my grandmother used to enjoy poking fun at the Catholic Church by calling the tail on a chicken or turkey the "Pope's nose"...   I think that might be what's going on with this peach...

YUMMMMM!!! My friend in South Georgia fixes the most delicious peach cobbler... This makes me want to go down to the store and get the stuff to make one. Cheers from Slovenia

I can almost feel the freshness in this image. It's the perfect antidote to a hot summer.

The nose just does it for me. It reinforces that nature works in amazing ways that we'll never understand. And that's OK: all we really need to do is capture the magic in some way. And you have!

We just had an article in the paper, we lost 95% of the local (St. Louis area) peach crop this year. Late freeze.... sad.

Yes, preserving. One of my favorite activities (except cleaning the jars).
