A KOOSH BALL TREE ?
I don't know what this tree is that's coming over the fence from the neighbors yard. I think they look like Koosh Balls. Koosh Balls, you ask? What are they?
Kids play with them and they are soft rubber with little spines all over them. They don't hurt of one gets hit with them and they have a great tactile feel to them.
So....
Until I get a name of this tree, I'll call it the Koosh Ball tree.
As with all of my pictures just click on it to see the detail.
Have a great weekend everyone.

What ever it is, it looks beautiful and interesting. Nice photo!
My photo made you smile but your comment on it made me smile too. Thank you for that and thanks for your visiting my blog.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I see that photography has helped you to see the richness of the little things in life. It is like see the world in the eyes of a child discovering the world. Keep creating wonderful images.
haha, funny post today. Lovely picture.
Good luck in your new home! Love this photo, such a lovely fresh green (also made me smile as I thought of something rude with my first glance at it!) I know, what a smutty mind!!!
Sounds cool!
Yes...lime green koosh balls. Who knew they grew on trees!
I had no idea they came from trees! Any hot pink ones? LOL
I love koosh balls. They are great stress relievers and wonderful "key finders" I have one attached to my keys and when I want to get them out of my purse I just have to put my hand in and feel the koosh ball.
I like this shot. I wonder if its related to the horse chestnut.
haha...koosh ball tree for sure ...so much of green around the house must cool you with temp. like those...
Luscious shades of green, nicely photographed.
May be this is not, but it reminds me a chest nut tree.
What a pretty color! I can almost feel the texture!
I know what koosh balls are. We've had a few in the house over the years. This definitely looks like one. Nice.
or perhaps a pom-pom tree....?
I guess no one knows what kind of plant this is. I don't either but I wish I did.
We have similar trees with fruit like this or nuts. The ones here have a star-like leaf and this thing you say is soft is hard like a walnut and the spines are like needles. Very different trees.
My daughter, Melinda, has a picture she took on my blog. It is a stunning macro.

Beautiful shot. It reminds me of a chestnut tree. Well, the inside of the ball you'd have to open and to get a chestnut out of it. I'm not sure if this is what it is, but it just reminded me of that.
Something tells me they will be hard in the fall, and will be more like nail balls.... Only time will tell!
Those are strange looking aren't they? No clue as to what they are. They make for a great picture though.
Sue,
After reading all the comments left, no one knows what kind of tree this is. Including me. If you ever figure out what it is, please let us know!!

heheheh
This is a Sweet Chestnut, well that's what it's called in England. When the 'koosh balls' fall, stomp on them and take out the nut. You can eat them raw but are much nicer roasted until the skin goes brittle.
castañas... ??

That's nifty looking. I've never seen that kind of tree before. Koosh ball seems a great name. Though it looks that someone let you know it's a sweet chestnut.
Yes, as said before, this is a sweet chestnut tree. The koosh balls will get brown and open when fall comes, to release small dark brown sweet chestnuts. I love them raw, boiled, roasted, well, I love them in any form!
