HAITI
It was almost a year ago that my husband and I went to Haiti for 2 weeks. I'm thinking about it because a team from our previous church is leaving today to build another church, put on Bible school programs and distribute rice and beans and clothing. The same things we were able to do.
Check my archives for Aug. 6th 2006 and Aug. 13th 2006 to see pictures of these beautiful people and their fascinating country.
As always click on the pictures to enlarge and see the detail.

I also like to remember my previous trips on its anniversary. I say with a deep breath: ohh..last year this time I was already at the airport:)
excellent work you're doing.... building community takes great time and commitment.
It's a shame that these people don't have the power to help themselves, through no fault of their own. Glad to see they are getting assistance from others who are more fortunate.
Maybe, your work there will help them improve their living standard.
The canadian Government give quite a bit of aid to Haiti and the Canadian Police, the RCMP, also have a role in peacekeeping there.
The RCMP are the guys with the red coats and big hats, but that is just ceremonial, they wear just a plain uniform on duty.

Such a lovely picture.
By the way, yesterday's post was dedicated to you.
thanks for stopping by.
Wonderful shot...I love their expressions. Reminds me of Ghana.
I;m glad that u remembered the trip ......i got to see a glimpse of Haiti through your memories...will go check out ur old pics now
I clearly remember your trip! Great pictures, too.
Some people at my church are involved with things over there too!
I'm always amazed when I see something about humanitarian efforts. These people who are living is such awful conditions and are hungry most of the time.. are smiling and laughing. I wonder if I could smile under the same circumstances.
I really like this.
it says so much and you captured the feeling so well.
not contrived at all.
bonne vacances à Haïti. Quand je suis à NYC, j'adore les Haïtiennes (et les haïtiens) car ils parlent français et ils sont tres sympathiques.
good holidays in Haiti. When I am with NYC, I adore Haitiennes (and haitiens) because they speak French and they are very sympathetic nerves.
Thanks God that there still have been people with great heart who think about those who need others help. It is wonderful feeling to be able to help to someone and make them happy and to see the smile on their faces.
It’s a beautiful photo that you posted as well as those that I saw from your archive.
Some great work there!
great work... many people hope for help, material and spiritual too.
have a nice day :)
That really must bring back some wonderful memories. Such a fulfilling purpose.
