AGELESS

I know I posted this last year and now its part of my Haiti archives. This shot bears repeating.
I was so taken with the ageless character lines of this woman that I just had to take her picture.
As I said before, Haitian women carry everything on their heads. This was laundry day and many items could be seen on their heads.
To see this woman more clearly just click on the picture.

It's always interesting to see other people from other cultures. These are some good pictures.

Love this shot ! And in some ways, the character of that woman kind of reminds me of my grandmother...

Is that a deer in the background?

Love your images from Haiti. It is amazing that they can balance all of that on their head. It would take me days just to get to the location to do my laundry if I had to carry it that way!! :) :)

Great color, and I like her expression. Nice job.

I wonder why some cultures carry things with their heads instead of their hands. There must be something to it. And, no doubt they probably have better posture and less back problems.

Today on my daily photo Blog about the Town of Château-Gontier (France) my subject is about humanism.
It is high time that humanism is with dimensions in Wall Street and on the other stock exchange places in the world.
Come and visit my photo blog.
Make that our indifference does not make us to them next victims.
Relay this fight in your own blog.
In advance thank you for them.

Wonderful pictures from Haiti Sue. I hope this years trip is successful for your Church. It is hard for us to imagine what other cultures are like and your pictures help to bring that home.

encore un beau portrait, qui nous montre que la vie est dure à Haïti

still a beautiful portrait, which shows us that life is hard in Haiti

A really great photo. She shows so much dignity. The goat back there is pretty cool too.

We have many Haitians that attend our church, and then after our Sunday service is over, they use our sanctuary for their own French Creole spoken service. They just bought a piece of our church's land to build their own building next door. They're a sweet bunch of people.
