IN THE GARDEN

After viewing the crazy purple head we went to the Rose Garden in Golden Gate Park. There were so many beautiful roses in bloom. I'll be posting several in the coming days. As always, to enlarge just click on the picture.

Beautiful. My mother used to always have rose bushes all over the yard when I was growing up. The smell of roses makes me think of her.

Oh, that is so beautiful. I like it better than the head.

That rose is just gorgeous. I can almost smell its heavy, sweet perfume.

mmmm I could smell it when I saw it. Our yellow roses always smell sweeter than the others.

I love roses, but have never had much luck with them, even though I live close to the "rose city". I look forward to seeing more rose pics. They are such beautiful, delicate, complex flowers.

This is a lovely rose! My favorite colors for roses. My favorite variety is the Peace Rose.

Hi, thanks for all your comments. My house doesn't look anywhere near as nice as yours but then again in this town it is really hard to build new houses so old ones just get fixed up - like what we will be doing! Our new garden-to-be is very tropical looking. There is a pomegranate tree too but will need to be transplanted - too crowded where it is and not enough light getting to it. There are 3 mature trees creating ample shade to the back half of the garden the other half has an inground pool. I love how close you can get to your photo subject and the photo is not blurred. I hope to get a digital camera at the end of the year. Cheers T.
