CALERA CREEK MARSH

The Calera Creek empties into the Pacific Ocean just a few miles from our home.
The marsh land has been declared an endangered habitat for the California garter snake and the blue mission butterfly.
By setting this land aside , the city is assured to have a beautiful place to hike and a place to enjoy the natural beautiy.

This is a beautiful photo. I am so appreciative the state has set this land aside, not just for the animals, but for those of us who appreciate a wonderful view.

Wow, what a great landscape. I am glad some things are getting set aside for both nature and just plain land preservation. The sprawl is getting ridiculous in most parts of the country.

Great capture.

Mahalo for answering the question about the jacaranda tree on my blog! I have finally a moment to surf my favorite dp blogs!

I'm so happy to read of these habitats being saved!

Great news that this lovely view will be preserved for all to enjoy. So much of our wild land and farmland is being concreted over and houses are springing up like mushrooms overnight.
Lovely detail in the foreground of this photo.

Very nice photo. Does it remain green or does it dry out as the weather warms?
It is a wise government that has the foresight to set aside such jewels as protected areas.
