UNDER THE SEA

We were invited to an authentic luau a while ago. It was so much fun and the decorations were lovely. One of the things they displayed was this old diving helmet and gear. I can't imagine being under water and trying to move around in such heavy equipment.

As always to get a closer look just click on the picture.

I always find myself holding my breath when someone is in one of these and underwater in a movie. Nice shot, I'd love to see one of these.

I'd hate to have to put on one of those helmets. I'm sure claustrophobia would get the better of me!

Congrats on selling the house, and thanks for your comments. I'm a bit behind with my thanks but have managed to catch up a little with yours and other people's blogs this evening.

Cool, reminds me of the Classic Disney film "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea"!

Great black and white and I like the subject. Quite interesting! :)

I suppose it would be lighter underwater.

Claustrophobia for me! I wouldn't like to ever be in one of these. But your photos are so wonderful to view.

I can't imagine being closed in like that. Nakes me shudder.

There's no way that I would put that on my head -- I won't go under water, anyway. :)

Good idea to go B&W. Couldn't imagine wearing it either. Must weigh a ton underwater!

As a diver I like these kinds of things. Nice shot.

Those were the days. That kind of gear is still used.

Nice picture. Good story.

Today, the final pictures of the series, "A Day in the Life of a Robin," is online. I couldn't decide which picture to use. I hope you get to see them.

Not for me, thank you very much. I can't stand to wear anything that binds me, even long sleeves. It makes a great photo though.
