COYOTES IN SAN FRANCISCO?

Driving in the Presidio on our way to the Memorial Day ceremony I spotted this sign. For 40 some years I have gone up this winding road and never saw it before.
Perhaps the coyotes cross the road just to get a better view of our beautiful Golden Gate Bridge.

I've never seen a coyote either. It's interesting that there would be a sign for them.

Looking back over the past week, it strikes me what a diverse range of pictures you have presented. It seems to have been a diverse week of activities too, along with the hugely siginficant event of the house sale being official.
Curious, today's post about the coyotes there, because I actually have arrived full of curiosity over the story I saw last night on the TV news. I wanted to ask you if you have seen the 2 trapped, injured whales that had reached the bay yesterday. Have they passed under the GGB now? Did you try to get photos? Imagine us watching this 7,000 miles away!

I've heard they're all over MI too, to the point that small children shouldn't play outside alone!

I love the word "Presidio." Presidio, Presidio, Presidio. I wish we had one of those. But then, I'm not very militarily inclined.

they deserve some touristic experience, too:)

Coyotes like cities.
About this photo, it's a nice framing, with the golden bridge in the background.

Coyotes were common where we lived before. In the fall, after the wheat harvest, we would walk the field and find coyote dens scattered all over the terraces.

I think the damage we have made to our world have effects in the animals.

Well, that's one sign I've never seen before. I have been hearing more reports in the last couple of years regarding coyotes snatching small pets and even children. I guess we've encroached on their land in lots of places.

Protect those coyotes, San Francisco!

They are turnning up in the oddest places. We thought the coyotes in Buckhead in Atlanta got our cat.

That made me smile! Fine pict!

This is strange indeed. I've seen deer crossing and cattle crossing and we even used to have goat crossing, but this is the first coyote crossing sign I've seen.

And if you go further south, they have "illegals" crossing signs. I guess the signs go with the territory. By the way, our hockey team are "The Coyotes".
