These look like periwinkle, which are among the very first flowers to make their appearance here in the Spring. So delicate and pretty.

Well thank you very much, Photowannabe Sue, I had been wondering what the name of these was... They are extremely prolific right now here in Marin County... You did a great job with the photo -- I've been trying to shoot them with my close-up lens, but keep striking out because of the very short depth-of-field... I'll keep trying... They look great backlit, but again, no success as of yet...
Thanks again for the name -- they really are Blue Diamonds !

Like Laurie, I also thought it was Periwinkle also known as Vinca. Whatever the name, it is very pretty and always an early appearance. I have some in my garden.

The picture is beautiful, especially when enlarged, although I like it for the colours alone, without needing the detail.

The similarities in our flora never fail to amaze me. I mean Portugal's & yours. I am from London, England & that's totally different.
The sale really looked like a lot of fun &glad it went so well for you.

Lovely, lovely. When I was growing up we called those flowers "periwinkles" and they meant that spring had really arrived. At last!
