THE PROCESS HAS BEGUN

Our granite countertops arrived this evening as well as the cooktop.
The hole is being cut for the sink and the picture isn't out of focus. That's the dust from the saw. We all looked like we were in a sand storm.
We have to wait until Monday for the sink to be in then the cabinets get done and the walls painted, then the backsplash can be added. Floors will be done Tuesday. Whew, so much to do.
Wish we had done all of this sooner as this is for putting the house up for sale. Its going to look so nice once its all finished.

I hope you had a eye, ear protector and mask while shooting in dust stom. Some type of saw dust is not really friendly for your health ( actually, quite bad...)
BTW, your new bench-top and cook-top looks really good.

re-doing a kitchen is a sure-fire way to get your house sold faster!

Your comments make me determined to do some remodelling while we still live in our little house since we are definitely contemplating downsizing.

Isn't that our nature, we fix up before selling, and then we wish we weren't moving because the house looks so nice. Oh yes, the dust.

I redid my kitchen after my husband died. I knew that it would help when I decide to sell. Now, as I look around, there are other things that I need to do.

Perhaps you'll love it so much you'll decide to stay!
Looks like it's going to be beautiful-but kitchen remods are the absolute worst!
Paper plates, cups, plastic utensils, microwave this, microwave that....yuck, yuck yuck!!

I'm planning a similar kitchen renovation a bit later this year so I will be keeping a close eye on your posts, and your photos. Good luck with it... are you doing it all yourselves or having a contractor in?

It's all going to be worth it, even if it's for adding to the sale value. I just envy the space and the equipment! You wouldn't believe my present kitchen....Meanwhile, you've got The Corral Steakhouse to fall back on, which looks mighty seductive!

we did the same about 3 years ago when we sold our house. yes, a shame that sometimes you don't get around to it until it's time to sell....and then you don't get to enjoy the benefits!

When you're done, would you come down here and work on mine? :)

Isn't that just the way . . . to fix a house up to sell. Once it's done you'll be distressed to leave it.

Well, I think that's a darn shame that you're going to move after you get your place all fixed up -- but of course it's a smart thing to do...
About 5 years ago I had to empty out 55 years of accumulation at my parent's house in Pacific Grove -- my mother was a true packrat -- and then I got to paint the whole place... Wore me out -- am sure you are feeling the same about now...

Doesn't it always figure that our homes are the nicest when it's time to sell them?

I'm sure the kitchen will be beautiful when it's done.

When we began renovating many years ago was when I was so traumatized with the noise, chaos, mess, and so and so forth, I began blogging for sanity sake. I don't know if you're living in the mess as I was, but if so, blog baby blog. It helps!
