HERITAGE

I've been doing a lot of thinking today.
Hubby went to the Doctor for his check up today, following his bout with Diverticulitus last week. Everything seems to be going well and the pain is almost gone. Three more days of his icky tasting pills and the world will be a better place...
I thought a lot about having good doctors and medical help so available for us. I am very grateful.
I thought about my grandkids and their parents. I miss them all and wish we could live closer to each other.
I thought about our heritage and what it brings to our lives this very day. I'm grateful for a strong family background and a love for the Lord.
I guess this is a day for thanksgiving and memories.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Family is so important! I search family trees and years gone by familys stayed within a few miles of one another! Nowadays we follow the jobs, meet other people who have done the same thing and before long we live hundreds of miles away from our families!

I am happy hubby is on the mend. You are greatful for a loving family, and that is all the reason in the world to be smiling, like your friend in the photo.
I enjoyed your mechanical series.

Yes, we all have so much to be thankful for if we just take a moment to think about it!

I hope hubby gets well. And the picture you took is a stark contrast with the steel locomotives.

Give your husband my best regards... Am glad he is on the mend... I've had a similar condition (ulcerative colitis) for the past five years, so I absolutely know what he is going through... Beyond the pain, it is just downright discouraging...
Oh, I've got my condition pretty well under control now -- eliminating meat and alcohol, plus adding daily excercise has helped me a lot, but the key for me was "probiotics"... You've got to overwhelm the "bad" bacteria in the gut with "good" bacteria, such as acidophilous (kefir)... If your husband has been taking anti-biotics, his gut is probably pretty much sterile right now, but the "bad" bacteria is definitely going to return, along with the pain, if he gives it a chance... I shouldn't be practicing medicine without a license, but there is one other thing -- don't drink tap water if it has been treated with chloramines... A charcoal water filter will remove 95% of the irritating chloramines, and he should notice an immediate improvement with his bowell movements... Oh, you know how it is when you get our age -- a simple thing like a good bowell movement can really put a smile on your face... Ain't life grand ?

What a lovely reminder for all of us to be thankful. My husband used to say this so often to "be thankful for whatever state you find yourself" and it's so true.

I'm happy that your husband is doing better. Prayers continue.

It is indeed so hard to be apart from family, but God is good and brings wonderful people into our lives to fill the gaps. :)

Glad your husband is nearly better!

Thankfulness and gratitude - these are the emotions/experiences that make life meaningful for us.

I'm delighted to hear that your man is feeling better and better and I'll keep my fingers crossed you get to spend some time with the rest of your family soon.

Kind of a creepy little guy ;)

I assume that Chad was not talking about your husband :)

The entire reason we came to Delta is to take care of family, so I know what you are talking about. All in God's plan.
