I bet it gets smelly near the sardine plant. Great shot.

Very interesting--especially as I thought that the "B" was a "U" in the word "Brine" until I enlarged it! LOL

Thanks for visiting my blog.

I love your sardine/ fish posts. I prefer my sardines in olive oil, and am not a fan of brine water.

Would you believe I've never tried sardines? I like anchovies though, so maybe I'd like them. I never knew they were brined in tanks like this!

In Portugal, all you need are the sardines, a barbeque, olive oil and some marinated salad & boiled potatoes. God's own food!

Now I do like sardines in both oil and mustard and I really like your previous shot "Dinner". That is a terrific image! Great work!!!

Oh neat... Hope you had a fine time in Monterey... My father worked as a bookkeeper for a succession of canneries "on the row" back in the late 40's and early '50's as a bookkeeper, but of course they all closed down -- except Portola (their squid packing operation closed in the mid-'60's), which is where the aquarium now is... Thanks for the memories...

Great photo! I think this is a great follow up to yesterday's post also. I love the "atmosphere" in this shot.

I used to like sardines until I realized they canned them whole, guts, feathers and all.
