I'm having so much fun looking at the world through the lens of my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3.
I will share my world of Rocklin, California and points North, South, East and West.
Come and enjoy with me.
Hi, It looks good in either format, but i do like black and white and intend to do more myself.I have an R72 Hoya infrared filter which can give unusual effects, will post some on my blog
I just uploaded an infrared picture taken with the R72 filter and the same pic processed to black and white, to my blog
I was just looking at your B&W os San Fran.... did you notice the pigeons on the roof? Also that street light, is the old type that causes light polution, they also waste power, the new design uses less power and does a better job of lighting the road and reduces glare, just my little rant.
I am more fond of the black and white...but that's very "me". I think the tonal range of the original lends itself to black and white.Bike messengers are insane in NY. Are they as bad there?
personally, I think bikes look so much better in mono.
I guess I am the exception..I prefer the metallic tones. However, I think it would depend on where the photo was used. In some instances, black and white would be more dramatic.
You know, I have to say that after much deliberation, I also like the metallic tones of the color picture, as well as how the green pole stands sedately in the center (it already has a lot of black and white tones to it--don't you think?)
belle photo, je prefere la version b&w beautiful photograph, I prefer the version b&w
I prefer B&W. But that's pretty much the way I am....
You know, I just can't make up my mind... The B&W is very strong, but the color rendition is also very good... Years ago I'm sure I would have favored the B&W, but as I said, I just can't make up my mind...
The Black and White!
I think your going to have a pretty even split here in terms of preference. I vote for the color.
Black and white I think. Both are good.
Just seen both pictures and I think I like the color one better :)
Very interesting comment by Outhouse capital of canada about energy saving street lights. Good point! After much hesitation, I'll go Black and white
I prefer coloured one. It drives more attention to detail IMHO.
I have to vote color on this one - not sure why.
Black and white for me. It brings out the lines in the pic.
One more vote for the black&white one ;)
I was thinking which one is better since yesterday. Honestly, I can not decide either. If I had to choose, I will pick a colour one.
I prefer the colour one. Which is curious, because I usually enjoy b&w pictures. In this case, I like the contrast between the mostly grey tones (the wheels of the bycicle and the background in general) and the soft colours of the coloured part of the bikes (don't know their names...)
