THERE'S A LONG, LONG TRAIL A WINDING

One afternoon we took our 4 wheel- drive truck up into the mountains. We visited the village of Pappae (pronounced popeye). The road was long and arduous, if you could call it a road. It was more like a cow trail and since some heavy downpours, very rutty and teeth-rattling. We arrived at a beautiful setting on top of the world. The people here live off the land and their homes are wood slats. We distributed rice and beans to about 15 families before it got dark. A million stars could be seen from there but it was an adventure riding back to our compound after that. Posted by Picasa
